Lemon Cookie Press Cookies are butter cookies that are bursting with lemon flavor! Cookie press cookies, also called Spritz cookies, are mostly made around the Christmas holidays. This recipe is perfect for the Spring or Summer months.
How fun are these cookies? I love to bring out my cookie press at Christmas time while I’m making all of my Christmas cookies. But who says we can’t have fun with it all year round? So dust off your cookie press and make a batch of these Cookie Press Lemon Cookies!
I honestly never met a cookie I didn’t like. If I’m being honest though, butter cookies are one of my favorites next to a good old homemade chocolate chip cookie. Since Spring is here, I thought it would be fitting to make a lemon butter cookie. Don’t you just love lemon desserts? I sure do!
I gotta tell you…I’ve been trying SO hard to take off those ten pounds I gained over the holidays. Can you relate?? But I LOVE to bake and share these recipes with all of you. So I’ve been sending my cookies and cupcakes out the door with my kids to take to work with them. I may have kept a few of these hanging around though.

To make these cute little cookies, you will obviously need a cookie press. I use the Wilton Cookie Pro Ultra II. For this recipe, I adapted the Classic Spritz Cookies that came with my press and I was really happy with the results.
Basically, you will first mix together your flour and baking powder in a medium bowl. In the bowl of a stand mixer or using a hand mixer with a large bowl, you will beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add egg, vanilla, fresh lemon juice and zest of the lemon and beat until combined. Add in the flour mixture and beat until combined.
Pick out any discs that make you happy and fill up your cookie press according to the instructions that came with it. Press your cookies onto an ungreased cookie sheet. I had so much fun decorating with different sprinkles. Sprinkles….NEVER too much. Bake cookies for about 10-12 minutes at 350 degrees F.

Lemon Cookie Press Cookies
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 1/2 cups butter, softened 3 sticks
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- sprinkles for decoration
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a medium bowl, combine flour and baking powder.
In the bowl of a stand mixer or using a hand mixer with a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add egg, vanilla, lemon zest and lemon juice and mix until combined.
Add flour mixture and mix until combined.
Fit cookie press with desired disc and fill the press by following the instructions that came with it.
Press cookies onto ungreased cookie sheet and decorate with sprinkles.
Bake 10-12 minutes or until edges are light golden brown. Cool on wire rack.
Recipe makes about 7-8 dozen cookies.
Cookies can be stored in a container with a tight-fitting lid for 2-3 weeks at room temperature or frozen for up to 2 months.
